Living Greyhawk Campaign Information
What is Living Greyhawk?
Living Greyhawk is the largest, most popular, shared Dungeons & Dragons campaign in the history of gaming. No matter where you go in the world, you can likely find a game of Living Greyhawk. Sanctioned Living Greyhawk characters can play in any of three types of scenarios depending on where you are: Core, Regional and Metaregional. Core modules can be played anywhere in the world at Conventions, Game Days, and Home games by ordering through the RPGA website at http://www.wizards.com/rpga. Metaregionals are available to characters in a large area of the Flaness, whereas Regionals are only available in specific countries or areas of the Flaness.

What is my Region?
If you're from Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, or Washington, your region is the Duchy of Urnst. For any other regions, please see the regional chart list available here or at the Living Greyhawk Website.
How do I get started?
First you need to be a RPGA member. For more infomation click on the RPGA link in the navigation or here. Secondly, you need to create a Living Greyhawk sanctioned character. All of the rules for Living Greyhawk are contained in the Living Greyhawk Campaign Sourcebook (LGCS) available from Living Greyhawk Campaign Home or here. Character creation guidelines are in the first part of this guide.
In brief, LG is a 28 point buy campaign. All attributes start at 8 and it costs one point for any attribute up to 15 and scale upwards from there until an 18 attribute costs 16 points. Characters may take any base starting class from the PHB at first level and may only take feats and prestige classes at 3rd level or the level they qualify at, whichever is higher. PHB races are available, but certain sub-races are unavailable without campaign documentation. Characters receive maximum hitpoints, plus their Constitution modifier and maximum starting gold. Characters may purchase items from the PHB from the trade goods, weapons (small and medium sized), armor, and goods and services section.
The predominant race in the Duchy of Urnst is Human Suloise. The Suloise have been running the Duchy for hundreds of years and are the only nobility in the Duchy of Urnst. Most of the organizations and advancement in the political structure of the Duchy of Urnst are Suloise centric. It is wise to start a Suloise character as your first character in the Duchy of Urnst. There are many character backgrounds located in the Metagaming section of this website that can be used to enhance your character and add interesting quirks to his/her personality.
What's next? (Finding a Game)
Next you need to find a Living Greyhawk game. Generally, the best way to do this is to check the Events Calendar. It doesn't filter by type of event offered, but it lets you filter by area, so you can find games running locally. In addition, each Region generally has a Yahoo! group or other mailing list. The Duchy of Urnst Yahoo! group is located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/duchyofurnst. In addition, Core modules can be played online and there is a general Yahoo! group to organize these located at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/OnlineGameDay. European time zones can check out their respective online Yahoo! Group at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/LG_Europe_Online/.
After your Game
After your first LG game, you'll have to fill out an Adventure Record. This piece of paper is signed by the judge and records how much experience and gold, as well as other items like favors, you received during the adventure. In addition, after playing your first LG module, you can join metagaming organizations, which are available under Metagaming. Metagaming organizations show that your character has joined the Ducal Guard, or the church of your God, or other organizations that enrich your character's background.
Running Games
Living Greyhawk games are ordered through the RPGA. Before you can order games, you must pass the RPGA Herald Game Master test, which tests your understanding of the D&D 3.5 rules and your ability to look rules up in the books. Then you must go to the RPGA website and order a game. Please see the RPGA section for more information.
